Has your child or teenager been struggling with suicidal thoughts, self-harm, ADHD, Autism, or trauma? Have they come out to you as transgender, or have they recently received a challenging diagnosis? Are you looking for a safe space where you or your loved one can talk and get help moving forward? If this sounds like you, I am here to help. As a transgender, neurodivergent therapist, my lived experience informs my practice in unique and helpful ways that foster empathy & meaningful connection in the therapy room. No matter your identity, I am here to support you and grow alongside you.

I am passionate about helping clients in the queer and neurodivergent community learn how to be their most authentic selves and find healing. I work with children, teens, & young adults, and I partner alongside my clients to guide them through their healing journey. Together, we can face these challenges and help you build the future you want for yourself.

I offer both virtual and face to face services. I operate from a trauma-informed, neurodiversity affirming, solution focused lens and incorporate coping skills from DBT. I believe that you as the client are the expert on your life and know what is best. Aika Shinkawa is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, supervised by Jessica Demla, MA, LPC-S.
