Jasmin Khan - Therapist and Counsellor
You may have a recent diagnosis or navigate neurodiversity for longer. You may suspect that you are neurodivergent, or are self-identifying. Even with the knowledge of a diagnosis, it can be challenging to navigate the many ways that neurodiversity may show up in your life.
Neurodiversity is often referred to as ‘identity-first’, meaning it is inherent to our being. I am neurodivergent myself, and I have a particular interest in ADHD and autism. I know from lived experience how important it is to work with a therapist who understands how to adapt therapy and counselling to neurodivergent needs, and I try to do this in collaboration with you. I can explore with you how it presents in your life, and support you in the changes you may seek. Often therapy is part of a wider treatment plan that we may want to take into account.
I am a therapist and psychotherapeutic counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I can work with you online, from anywhere in the world (outside of the US), and in person, in London / UK. I can offer therapy in English and German.
I work holistically and balance relational, creative approaches with change-orientation and structure. I apply a trauma-aware and neuroscientifically supported approach, working with the body-mind connection. In addition to neurodivergence, I have lived experience with and specialised training to work with culture, identity and belonging; grief and bereavement; work challenges; and relationships.
I like to equip you with agency over your own development and share context as to how therapy works. Being neurodivergent often means that we have a strong sense of justice, and I believe that the worlds we live in impact our mental health, and my practice considers the effects of climate change, the social and political challenges of our times.
I thank my ADHD for my non-linear background — I have lived and worked across Europe, the UK, the US, the Middle East, and Asia, and I am mixed-race. Prior to being a therapist, I worked in tech, and had stints at the UN and in public broadcasting. Apart from training in Transactional Analysis Counselling with Social Justice, I have completed extensive other relevant training, such as in mindfulness, contemplative psychology, as a coach, and as a yoga teacher. My non-linear background is reflected in my broad, therapeutic approaches that I adapt to what you need.
