Asae Kondo - LMFT
Many of us have the desire to be truly listened to, seen, and deeply understood. I believe all of us have the answers within ourselves and our unique experiences, and sometimes we just need a little help from someone else to help us discover them. I’m not going to talk your ear off or mansplain your nervous system to you. I will listen, we will talk through things, I will challenge the way you look at things, there may be tears, and there will definitely be laughter.
I am deeply committed to working with warmth, humor, authenticity, and an anti-oppressive framework. I use a balance of making space for you to process, deepening your understanding of your emotions, validating, and working together to figure out practical solutions to improve your well-being. I enjoy working with individuals and couples of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender expressions. I especially like working with queer, neurodivergent, people of color, multi-ethnic folks, and kinky, or ethically non-monogamous relationships.
My understanding of the world is influenced by my experiences as a queer, mixed-race (Japanese/white) therapist. Everyone deserves a space to fully let go, break down, take up space, and connect. Let me know how I can help. Let’s talk.
