Accessibility
Neurodivergent Practitioners is built for neurodivergent people, and many of us who use this site rely on a keyboard or a screen reader, or find some designs hard to read or move through. So getting access right is part of the work of running this directory.
This page sets out what we are aiming for, where we currently fall short, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.
What we are aiming for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at level AA across this site. In plain terms, that means being able to use the whole site with a keyboard, having enough colour contrast to read comfortably, and making sure everything works with a screen reader.
Where we are right now
This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. Most of the site meets the standard, and we know about some parts that do not yet. We are working through them, and we will update this page as each one is fixed.
Our language guide and its Easy Read version are in good shape. Most of the fixes still to make are on the directory pages, where you search for and read listings.
What we are working on
These are the barriers we already know about and are fixing:
- Making sure you can always see where you are when moving through the site with a keyboard.
- Repairing the “skip to content” link, so keyboard and screen-reader users can jump straight past the menu.
- Giving a few search fields, filters and buttons clearer names, so a screen reader can describe what they do.
- Re-checking colour contrast across the site after our recent change of colours.
- Correcting the order of some headings so the page reads in a logical structure.
- Planning a full test with screen readers and keyboard-only use, covering the whole journey from searching for a practitioner to getting in touch.
If you need a different format
Our language guide is also available as an Easy Read version and as a PDF you can download. If you need something on this site in a different format, please tell us and we will do our best to provide it.
Tell us if something is in your way
If you hit a barrier anywhere on this site, or something here is hard to use, please tell us. It genuinely helps us put it right, and we will reply.

How and when we checked
We wrote this statement in July 2026. Our checks so far have been an internal review of the site’s design and code against WCAG 2.1 AA. A fuller test using screen readers and keyboard-only navigation is planned. We will keep this page current as we make fixes and as that testing happens.
