The verified badge
Some listings on Neurodivergent Practitioners carry a Verified by Neurodivergent Practitioners badge. This page explains what that badge means, so you know what you are looking at when you find a practitioner here.
What the badge tells you
A verified badge means we have confirmed that the practitioner is accountable to someone outside this directory.
So if something ever goes wrong with a practitioner you found here, there is a process you can follow. Our Feedback and Concerns page sets out the steps.
How we check
There are two routes to the badge. Whichever one a practitioner takes, we are checking the same thing, that there is somewhere you could turn if something ever went wrong.
- Public register. Some practitioners are registered with a professional or regulatory body that has a public register, an ethics code, and a complaints process. We check that their registration is in their name, current, and free of restrictions. If a concern is raised, they have a process for it, and both sides are heard.
- Professional insurance. A practitioner can choose this route instead. Some fields have no register to check, and some practitioners choose not to join a body for their own valid reasons. We check their current insurance certificate is in the name on their listing. If a concern is raised, their insurer is somewhere you could take it.
A practitioner ready to apply for the badge can start at Get Verified. It asks for a practitioner login, then for their verification details.
When a practitioner has no badge
Verification is optional, and a badge provides additional information rather than a measure of a practitioner’s worth. The absence of a badge should not be taken as a sign that someone is less trustworthy or less capable. Practitioners without a badge may still hold professional registrations, memberships, qualifications, and insurance. It simply means these have not been independently checked by us.
Every practitioner listed here, badge or not, makes the same public commitments to neuroaffirming practice.
If you have a concern about a practitioner or something you have seen on the directory, you can find out what to do on our Feedback and Concerns page.
