Neurodivergent Affirming Coaching By Katy

My path to coaching wasn’t a straight line. I earned my MSW and spent nearly a decade working as a therapist. During that time, I was diagnosed as autistic and began focusing my work on autistic and neurodivergent adults and adolescents. What I noticed again and again was that many people didn’t need clinical interventions, they needed someone who truly saw them, who could walk beside them, and offer gentle guidance.
That realization is what pulled me toward coaching. It felt more aligned with who I am, and with what I saw my community truly needed. I’m now completing my ICF-accredited training in neurodiversity coaching, blending my lived autistic experience with professional coaching skills.
My coaching always comes from two places: my lived reality as an autistic woman, and my professional training. I believe the support of a fellow neurodivergent person is one of the most powerful ways to help other neurodivergent people thrive. My style is warm, genuine, and empowering. I don’t coach from a place of hierarchy — I see you as the expert in your own life. I’m here to walk alongside you, not above you.
I view everything through the lens of self-compassion, because I’ve seen firsthand how transformative it can be — for me and for the people I work with. My coaching will always be LGBTQIA+ affirming, non-judgmental, and safe. I’m comfortable working with people in so-called “alternative” lifestyles, relationships, or identities that sit outside the mold.
Outside of coaching, I’m an avid coder, part-time web developer, and unapologetic fashion lover. I’m also a dog, cat, shrimp, and human mom — which basically means I live in organized chaos here in East Tennessee with my son and our little zoo.
