Hello, my name is Tara (They/them) but I go by T!

I’m an Integrative Art psychotherapist offering in person sessions in Edinburgh and online. I work with CYP 7-23 and adults aged 45+ within Edinburgh City limits and those 7+ (with no upper age limit) for those who live outside of city limits and other parts of the UK.

I’m dedicated to improving the lives of marginalized young people, parents, and adults. My expertise lies in psycho-educative work, bespoke therapeutic support with a strong Anti-oppressive/trauma informed base. I help young people and adults connect with the impact of othering experiences, to in turn give space to work towards healing and joy.

I’m a proud AuDHD, Non-binary, Queer and polyamorous Therapist. There is a power in shared experiences with having access to professionals that have walked similar paths. I’m especially passionate about how lived experiences of our communities are utilized into creating inclusive clinical practice. For me healing happens when we have access to therapists who we feel represent us, and the wonderful diversities of our communities.

As an Art therapist I have the privilege of being able to work creatively with clients. This can sometimes involve externalizing inner states, emotions and experiences into art mediums such as painting, sculpting and mess making. Whilst Art therapy does not have to include any art making, it provides a powerful tool to learn more about ourselves without the need for words.

My specialisms include

-Working with neurodivergent, and disabled young people, adults and families (including Autism, ADHD, LD, FASD+)
-LGBTQIA+ young people and adults.
-CYP who have experiences of complex trauma and abuse (including pre-trial therapy)
-Specialized knowledge of young people and adults who have left cults/high demand groups

Please feel free to reach out and make contact if what I’m saying resonates with you. I offer free consultations for up to 40 minutes to help you make an informed decision about next steps for therapy and I currently have in person sessions available on Thursdays and Fridays.
