Aiden Reis, Psychotherapist
Are you looking for a therapist, and know that as soon as you reach out your heart will be racing? You might be experiencing scary thoughts that won’t stop or make you doubt yourself. Maybe you are exhausted by all of the things you feel you have to do to stay safe. If you are late or self-diagnosed autistic, or suspect you are, you might be looking for someone who has a nuanced view of the ways autism presents, including how gender and race influence this.
I am a trans and autistic therapist who has received advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), especially a form of CBT called Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). My approach is warm and engaged. I can teach you skills that address how to live in less fear, trust yourself more, unmask, and recover from or prevent burnout. Along the way I’ll ask you to try out the skills between sessions and report back about what is and isn’t working so we can make adjustments together to meet your unique needs.
My belief is that therapy should adapt to you. Sit comfortably, fidget, don’t make eye contact or do, its all fair game. With the world at large not being built for neurodivergent brains, therapy should be a place where you can be yourself. You don’t need to be neurodivergent to see me for therapy, all are welcome. If you want to learn more about what I do and how I can help check out my website at http://www.divergecounseling.com or reach out directly.
