About me
______________________________________
Hello, my name is Jen and I am a qualified and experienced counsellor.
For many, reaching out for support during a difficult time can be a big decision, and perhaps a little nerve-wracking for some. Whether this is your first time reaching out for support or you have previous experience of talking therapy, I aim to work with you, at a pace you are comfortable with.
I can support you by tailoring my approach to your individual needs; This is established by mutual discussion, and collaboration to determine what works for you.
My integrative practice blends the person-centred approach, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and Transactional analysis, I also incorporate elements of dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) for clients who, alongside ‘traditional’ talking therapy, enjoy learning practical skills to support them in their everyday lives.

How counselling can help
______________________________________
There may be many reasons you have decided to seek support from a counsellor, perhaps you are experiencing anxiety or depression, or maybe you would like to explore your past or present with someone who can listen without judgment.
My aim as your counsellor is to put you at the centre of the work that we may do together, ensuring you feel supported, and providing you with a confidential and judgement-free space. I believe everyone has the right to good mental health and positive self-esteem, and through exploring your feelings, thoughts and emotions, I aim to offer a safe environment in which you can work towards a better understanding of yourself and your experiences.

I have experience working with both adults and young people, and I have worked with clients experiencing depression, stress, anxiety, loss, difficulty in relationships, neurodiversity (both diagnosed, self-diagnosed or questioning), suicidal thoughts, trauma, disability, misdiagnosis, medical trauma, intrusive thoughts, abuse and neglect.
I welcome clients from the LGTBQI+ community and aim to provide a neuro-affirming and gender-affirming environment, I warmly welcome clients who are exploring their identities.
I offer a free 15-minute introduction call so you can ask any questions you have about counselling and see if I am the right counsellor for you.

”Jenna is fantastic! It is such a pleasure to talk with someone who has such a deep understanding of disability. She listens with huge empathy and makes helpful connections between different things I express during our sessions. She generously shares her expertise, is very reflective and compassionate in her practice, and consistently ensures my needs and goals in therapy are met.”
