Michael Rosewood - LMSW-C ACTRP

Welcome, fellow wanderers!
I’m so glad that you made it here safe and sound.
My name is Michael Rosewood, and I’m a LMSW-C ACTRP. As a clinical psychotherapist, I’m all about creating connections and fostering a sense of belonging. Think of me as your guide through life’s ups and downs, offering a warm and welcoming space where you can be yourself without any judgment. Together, we’ll build a supportive therapeutic rapport, explore your inner world, and work towards creating the life you deserve. So, let’s embark on this adventure together and discover the strength and resilience within you. I’m here to support you on your journey towards healing and personal growth!
In your first session with me, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment where we’ll get to know each other and discuss your goals for therapy. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and that you feel like we’re a good fit! We’ll explore your concerns, past experiences, and current compensatory strategies to tailor our approach to best meet your needs. Together, we’ll establish a collaborative therapeutic relationship built on trust and mutual respect, laying the foundation for our work together.
I’m a neurodivergent therapist, and in my opinion, my ADHD is my superpower. Throughout talk psychotherapy sessions, it may feel as though the sessions are directionless, unstructured, or random, as though there’s no “point” or “purpose” to the dialogue. Rest assured, that while my ADHD may bounce the conversation around from talking point to talking point, the discussion is actively being synthesized, and we are actively mapping the internal constellations of your psyche. My ADHD allows me to keep track of several different socioemotional and psychological concepts at once, actively hold them in a cognitive queue, before I relay all of these interconnected concepts back to you.
My role as your psychotherapist is to support you in connecting the dots between concepts that may feel entirely separate and unrelated; however, when we zoom out and reflect, we can identify that they are intricately interwoven and typically connect to intrinsic core, primordial wounds. Once we’ve established the connections, and reflected on the mapping of your inner experience, that’s when the collaborative transformational experience begins as you move forward on your path to wellness.
In sessions, I normalize and openly use sensory tools that help support my brain with remaining engaged, centered, and grounded. I encourage my clients to explore their own strategies and supports that work best for their brains as well, as long as it doesn’t distract or take away from the session. For example, this might include clients using different styles of headphones, hand-held sensory fidgets, weighted items or blankets, movement breaks, using air-dry clay or Play-Doh, drawing or coloring, or hugging a comfort item.
Beyond the confines of my virtual psychotherapy office, I’m an energetic and spirited person with a wealth of passions just waiting to be hyperfixated upon. You will often find me immersed in the fantastical realms of gaming (video games, board games, card games, any really!), particularly Dungeons and Dragons, where I love crafting intricate stories while fostering connections. When I’m not rolling dice or delving into the human psyche, you’re guaranteed to find me with a Diet Coke or iced coffee, watching anime, cartoons, or any other animated series with my three cat companions. I’m also a collector of interesting knick-knacks, crystals, gems, and rocks!
If you’re seeking a therapeutic experience that focuses on your strengths, centers around your unique identity, promotes holistic care, and prioritizes your rapport with your therapist, then you have come to the right place. I invite you to consider embarking on a new journey of connection, reflection, and transformation with me through my practice, Insightful Connections LLC.
