Julia Rice - MA, ADHD Coach

I have a passion for people and their whole, complex lives. As a person with ADHD, my greatest joy is in holding supportive space and providing thought partnership for fellow neurodivergent folks and others. As a coach, I help mid-career professionals, entrepreneurs, executives and senior leaders navigate challenges, work toward goals, build self-awareness, and co-create strategies for living and working better with ADHD. I coach with versatility, creativity, warmth, enthusiasm, humor, authenticity and curiosity.
Before becoming a coach, I held director-level roles in leadership development, program management, design education, and organizational strategy. With degrees in design, psychology, and a master’s in counseling psychotherapy, my approach draws on both professional experience and evidence-based practices in mental health, neuroscience, cognition, and design thinking.
Many of my clients—like me—were diagnosed in adulthood and are now learning to understand their unique brains after years of misunderstanding, both from others and themselves. If that sounds familiar, I’m glad you’re considering coaching. It’s a supportive space to explore your strengths and struggles, gain clarity, and get motivated for taking action while working with a dedicated thought partner who truly gets it.
Perhaps you’ve had the unique experience of having both high intellectual/cognitive abilities while also living with ADHD. You’ve had successes, but also struggles – the inconsistency between the two can be frustrating in a world that doesn’t understand this unique combination. You may have even avoided seeking help because it doesn’t seem like the support available is a good fit for your needs. That’s where a coach with lived experience can make all the difference. I bring versatility, agility, creativity, warmth, enthusiasm, humor, authenticity and curiosity to our work. Together, we’ll honor and celebrate all of who you are, while helping you move through challenges, find new ways forward, develop confidence, motivation and a sense of fulfillment, envision the life you want to lead and take action to pursue it.
I’ve worked with clients from a range of industries and roles including mental health, education (K-12 and higher ed), veterinary and human medicine, entrepreneurs, biomedical scientists, attorneys, communication and marketing, graphic designers, UX/UI designers, architects, industrial designers, engineers, visual and performing arts, and non-profit leaders.
I specialize in working with adults from 18 to 80, helping them learn more about their unique brains and build supportive skills to grow professionally and personally. Many of my clients reach out for support in making changes in their career journeys, navigating times of transition (major life events or entering a new chapter), or making plans for taking their greatest aspiration into action. Coaching has helped my clients build better strategies to enhance their leadership and performance, navigate their day-to-day challenges and ground in their strengths to minimize stress and self-doubt – finding ways to live happier, more confident, and fulfilling lives.
