Julia Rice - MA, ADHD Coach
I have a passion for people and their whole, complex lives. As a person with ADHD, my greatest joy is in holding supportive space and providing thought partnership for fellow neurodivergent folks and others. As a coach, I help neurodiverse entrepreneurs, executives and senior leaders navigate challenges, work toward goals, build self-awareness, and co-create strategies for living and working better with ADHD.
Like myself, many of my clients were diagnosed later in life (adulthood) and are in a place of learning about their unique brains after years of misunderstanding (from other as well as themselves!) If this is your experience too, I’m so glad you’re looking into coaching. It is a wonderful space just for you to explore your skills and struggles, get clarity to better understand your needs, and work with a dedicated and compassionate thought partner who really gets it.
Many of my clients identify as what some call 2E, or “twice exceptional” (meaning you have both high intellectual/cognitive abilities and live with a neurodevelopmental condition like ADHD). You’ve had successes, but also struggles, and the inconsistency between the two can be frustrating in a world that doesn’t understand the experience of this unique combination. You may have even held back from seeking support because it doesn’t seem like the support available is a good fit for your needs. That’s where a coach who has lived experience with this condition can make all the difference. I coach with versatility, agility, creativity, warmth, enthusiasm, humor, authenticity and curiosity. We will work together in a way that honors and celebrates all of who you are, while helping you move through challenges, find new ways forward, and get to a point of feeling confident and fulfilled, ready to take on the goals you dream of.
Prior to coaching, I worked in leadership director roles in leadership development, program management, design education, and organizational strategy. With degrees in design, psychology, and a master’s in counseling psychotherapy, my approach is informed by evidence-based practices in mental health and psychology, design thinking, neuroscience and cognition as they pertain to life and work.
I work with entrepreneurs, new and emerging leaders, managers, directors, and C-suite leaders for support to grow and develop professionally and personally. Many of my clients reach out with goals for making changes in their career journeys and/or professional identities. Others seek coaching as a way to enhance their own leadership and performance to better succeed on their current professional path.
I’ve worked with clients from a range of professions and roles, including mental health, education (K-12 and higher ed), veterinary and human medicine, information technology (IT), attorneys, sales, management, communication and marketing, graphic designers, UX/UI designers, architects, industrial designers, engineers, visual and performing arts, and non-profit leaders.
