Joie - Peer Recovery Coach

Hi! It’s so nice to meet you. My name is Joie (pronounced like Joey), my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a peer recovery coach currently based in Union County, NJ.

Though I have worked in traditional corners of the mental health and wellness field for a number of years now, I am growing to understand more and more that our current Western medical model of mental healthcare isn’t working; not for me, and certainly not for the people I serve.

Through my own lived experience and a shitload of trauma work with my own coach, I am working to unlearn what I have internalized after so many years. My goal as a practitioner is to meet whomever I connect with through a kind, compassionate, and peer-focused lens. I hope that, by unlearning together, we can slowly change this universe for the better.
