Jill Toale - Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor
I specialize in individuals seeking to build a better understanding of themselves and improve their lives. As a queer and neurodivergent therapist, I especially enjoy working with neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ individuals. In addition to being licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I hold advanced certifications in drug and alcohol counseling and healthcare quality. I also provide consultative services for behavioral health organizations nationwide.
My clinical approach is deeply rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I believe that everyone has the power to connect with themselves, change and grow. My clients’ struggles are often related to depression, anxiety, trauma, family dynamics, gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, substance use, career and life transitions.
Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach. I use evidence-based modalities uniquely tailored to the needs of the individual client.

Hey! If you’ve made it this far on my page, you’d probably like to know more about me.
I’m a Philly native and have been in the behavioral health field for 16 years. My Bachelor of Arts degree focused on psychology and criminal justice and I hold a Master of Arts in Professional and Clinical Counseling from La Salle University. I’ve been licensed in the state of Pennsylvania since 2016.
I’ve worked in multiple settings over the years, including detox/rehab, youth residential facilities, intensive outpatient, and managed care. I’m on a mission to help people change their lives for the better and elevate the landscape of behavioral health services. To that end, I am a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.
While the majority of my career has focused on teens and adults with substance use issues and severe mood impairment, I have a unique passion for helping LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent people.
I am a proud queer and neurodivergent therapist. I have lived the experience of feeling “other’d” in many ways and truly find joy in supporting people as they connect to, and learn to love, their true and authentic selves.
Aside from my career, I adore my wife, dog, and two cats. I am a retired amateur Muay Thai fighter, retired rugby player, and enthusiastically average Crossfitter. Mindfulness and Yin Yoga are integral to my own wellness.
You can typically find me hiking, gardening with my wife, playing guitar, listening to music, meditating, or tinkering with my 12-year old Jeep Wrangler.
So, do we vibe?
