Dr. Panicha McGuire
Welcome to Living Lotus Therapy! I’m Dr. Panicha McGuire, the founder of this practice and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as a Registered Play Therapist™ in California, Colorado, and Hawaii. My passion lies in guiding children, teens, and young adults on a transformative journey towards achieving their goals.
As a neurodivergent and neurodiversity-affirming psychotherapist, I bring a unique perspective to my practice. My goal for all clients is to create a safe space for a powerful transformation in ourselves and our relationships. I believe that fostering an authentic and collaborative relationship is crucial in our work together.
In addition to drawing from my personal experiences as a neurodivergent individual and integrating a diverse range of evidence-based practices, I infuse humor into our sessions. I find that laughter can be a powerful tool for healing. I also incorporate experiential exercises, creating dynamic and engaging sessions that go beyond traditional talk therapy.
In my practice, I hold space for the full spectrum of emotions, recognizing that each feeling is valid and an essential part of the therapeutic process. My approach centers on empowerment, helping you gain insight into the resources you already possess. In this profession, the greatest gift is supporting individuals, using humor and experiential exercises, in developing a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Who I Am Outside of Therapy:
Originally hailing from Bangkok, Thailand, I embarked on a journey that took me to Los Angeles, CA, at the age of five. My academic pursuits led me to graduate school in San Diego, CA, and I now call Honolulu, HI, my home. Sharing my life with two delightful canine companions, ObiWan (inspired by the Jedi) and Nala (courtesy of the Lion King), brings boundless joy.
During my leisure time, you’ll find me immersed in the rejuvenating practice of yoga or indulging in video games. My spouse and I are avid participants in Comic-Con and Wonder-Con, adding a touch of excitement to our shared adventures. With a whopping 54 plants, I proudly embrace my title as the ‘crazy plant lady,’ showering my green friends with love and care. Amidst these pursuits, my ultimate life goal is to explore and savor the diverse wonders our world has to offer through extensive travel.
