Cheryl Tuckwell - CBT and Person Centred Counsellor

My name is Cheryl and I am an experienced Person-Centred and CBT Counsellor.

I am also a qualified and experienced Clinical Supervisor, with experience of working in schools (age 3-18), with adults, face to face and online. I have experience of NHS work, schools, BetterHelp and Private Practice.

I have a strong interest in helping and working with children, adolescents and adults who identify as neurodivergent, and I identify as being on the autistic spectrum. I feel that this gives me a lived experience insight into some of the issues we face in our daily lives, when having to access a neurotypical world, and feeling it is sometimes not set up for a neurodivergent mind. I am able to offer online sessions that support sensory issues, and we will work together to see what feel right for you, so you feel comfortable and safe through sessions. As well as working as a counsellor and providing a place to listen, I also work on helping people with their social skills and communication difficulties, and helping young people learn how to move forward when looking for relationships and friendships.

I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework. I receive regular supervision (individual, peer and group) and attend continuing training and development, both personal and professional.

I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for my clients to explore their inner world.

I offer a free 20 minutes initial consultation via Zoom, just so you get to meet me and see if you feel you would like to work with me. Following this, my sessions are priced at £40 per 50 minutes session.

I understand that 50 minutes can be a long time to be focused and can feel overwhelming, so I am able to offer shorter session whcih we can discuss if this is necessary.
