Autistic & ADHD Life

Autistic & ADHD Life
Practitioner identifies as: AuDHD

I am Caroline Frostick, a senior accredited practitioner with BACP.

My clients often come with challenges such as life transitions or difficulty with work or personal relationships. Late-identification as Autistic and/or ADHD can turn your world upside down, and you may want to explore changes to your sense of self or make practical adaptations to the way you live your life. Now might feel like the right time to maximise your potential or – you might just feel stuck. Sometimes the work can be about exploring more abstract aspects of life such as meaning and identity, or a sense of connection to self, others and the wider world.
While coaching sessions may be more future-focused, as a senior accredited therapist with BACP I have had many years of experience working at depth when needed. I work integratively, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, existential and cognitive behavioural approaches, and I also offer EMDR which can be a powerful tool. Whatever your goal, therapy or coaching can be a great way to begin to make the changes you need to move forward with your life.

What I offer:
Online or in person walking sessions (£65 for 50mins)
The first few coaching sessions would usually take place weekly, followed by monthly or ad-hoc sessions as changes are incorporated into your life. Therapy sessions take place on a weekly basis for an agreed period of time. I work online and also offer in-person walk and talk sessions.
I am based in South East London and walking sessions take place locally. There are many beautiful parks and open spaces in London, and the benefits of green space and exercise are well known. The momentum of walking itself contributes to a sense of progression and we can always stop and sit when needed. I work outdoors in all conditions – the weather and changing seasons often become a grounding aspect of the work – so suitable clothing is advisable.

Online EMDR (sessions from £75)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a well-researched and validated technique which stimulates the brain’s natural processing capacity. It is used widely in the NHS and works well both in-person and online. EMDR is probably best known for treating PTSD, however, it can also be very effective for many other challenges including phobias, panic and loss. Qualification: EMDR parts 1, 2 and 3 (Europe).

I am also an experienced supervisor (trained in the Seven-Eyed Model) offering regular and ad-hoc supervision. The length and frequency of sessions can be tailored to your needs, and I welcome trainees, newly-qualified and experienced practitioners.

As well as my client work, I teach counselling and psychotherapy to MA level, design and deliver training for health professionals and conduct research into mental wellbeing. In a former life I also spent a decade working in the TV industry. As a senior accredited practitioner with BACP I work within their Ethical Framework and undertake my own regular supervision and continuous professional development. I am neuro-affirmative and welcome clients and supervisees from all backgrounds, ethnicities and orientations. But most of all, I am committed to understanding you and your own unique experience.

I offer an initial free 20min chat, so please do get in touch if you would like to meet or find out more.
