Autistic & ADHD Life
My name is Caroline Frostick and I am a senior accredited therapist with BACP.
You may be feeling stress and anxiety related to everyday challenges at work or with relationships, or there may be deeper trauma that you want to work through. Loss, bereavement, discrimination and emotional neglect are common experiences which have the potential to impact us in the present even when the events occurred a long time ago. Sometimes the work can be about exploring more abstract aspects of life such as meaning and identity, or a sense of connection to self, others and the wider world. Late-identification as Autistic and/or ADHD can turn your world upside down, and you may want to explore changes to your sense of self or make practical adaptations to the way you live your life.
What I offer:
Online or in person walking sessions in Greenwich Park (sessions from £65)
Greenwich Park offers the opportunity to work with your therapist in a beautiful and calming outdoor environment. The benefits of green space and exercise are well known and the momentum of walking itself can contribute to a sense of progression, with more secluded areas to stop and sit when needed. I work outdoors in all conditions (the weather and changing seasons can become a grounding aspect of the work) and so suitable clothing is advisable.
Online EMDR (sessions from £75)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a well-researched and validated technique which stimulates the natural processing capacity of the mind. It is used widely in the NHS and is probably best known for treating trauma and PTSD. However, it is also effective for many other presentations including: anxiety and panic, phobias, complicated grief, addictions and pain. Qualification: EMDR parts 1, 2 and 3 (UK and Europe).
I work integratively, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, existential and cognitive behavioural modalities, and I always take a neuro-affirmative approach. I am also an experienced supervisor (trained in the Seven-Eyed Model) offering regular and ad-hoc supervision. The length and frequency can be tailored to your needs, and I welcome trainees, newly qualified and experienced therapists. As well as my client work, I teach counselling and psychotherapy to MA level, design and deliver training for health professionals and conduct research into mental wellbeing. In a former life I also spent a decade working in the TV industry. As a senior accredited practitioner with BACP I work within their Ethical Framework and undertake my own regular supervision and continuous professional development. I welcome clients and supervisees from all backgrounds, ethnicities and orientations but most of all, I am committed to understanding you and your unique experience.
I offer an initial free 20min chat, so please do get in touch if you would like to meet or find out more.
