Andrew Blackowiak, LMSW - Psychotherapist

Many people struggle to find meaning and connection in a time that increasingly demands productivity above all else. Despite their efforts, they may feel misunderstood by their older support system, or disillusioned from the pain and suffering they experience in our ‘land of the free.’ What does that do to a person’s sense of security? Their belief system? For some, thoughts of the future are tied to feelings of dread or anxiety. Thoughts of the past may be tied to shame, confusion, or betrayal. If you’re searching for meaning, growth, and joy during this time, I am here to partner with you.
My practice is informed by DBT, psychodynamic theory, and intersectional feminism. My primary interests pertain to religious trauma, ADHD, and gender & sexual identity. I aim to be a fellow explorer and accountability partner. If nothing else, I am a curious person, and I thrive on finding the joy and (sometimes dark) humor in everyday life.
I understand that finding a therapist can be stressful, scary, or just irritating if you scroll long enough. If you’re feeling that way, we can talk about it as we get started. In our sessions, no topic is taboo or off the table (try me). Authenticity is never wasted, and I want to meet you in whatever stage you’re at, mentally and emotionally.
