Amy Melchor - M.S.,AMFT

As a queer, neurodivergent, first-generation Mexican woman, I bring a lived understanding of what it means to move through the world with intersecting identities that often don’t fit neatly into traditional systems. My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for the nervous system, especially for those navigating complex PTSD, chronic trauma, neurodivergence, or the lingering impact of invalidating environments. I’ve worked across multiple clinics supporting individuals ready to move beyond survival and toward a life that feels more connected, easeful, and self-directed. I often work with clients who are reflective, emotionally attuned, and seeking to understand the “why” behind their patterns — those who crave relief, clarity, and more honest connection with themselves and others. I integrate psychodynamic therapy with tools from DBT and somatic awareness, supporting adults, teens, and couples. I also believe therapy doesn’t need to be cold or clinical — it can be warm, collaborative, even playful. I show up as a real person in the room and welcome your full humanity, however it shows up.
