I offer individual and relationship counselling for adults (19+) with ADHD, many of whom are new to identifying as neurodivergent and looking to gain a deeper understanding of themselves. While having ADHD can be difficult, one of the more prominent barriers to care seems to be the lack of clear, accessible information designed to empower ADHDers to engage with the world in a way that works for them.

It stands to reason that this missing piece could prevent folks from connecting the dots necessary to live a more fulfilling and aligned life. If you are new to having ADHD you might feel anxious about what this label means for you or sadness over not receiving this information sooner. Life can feel overwhelming without the right strategies and support in place. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to understand themselves from a fuller and more compassionate lens. Some of the concerns I commonly assist clients with include:

Persistent feelings of guilt or shame

Rejection sensitivity or social anxiety

Ongoing feelings of worthlessness or low self-esteem

Struggles with an inner critic and perfectionism

Difficulties with emotional dys-regulation (really big feelings that overtake you)

Challenges in building meaningful and lasting relationships

Navigating effective communication and boundary setting

Managing sensory overstimulation as a highly sensitive person

Executive functioning challenges, including procrastination, time management, completing tasks, and impulsivity

As the person guiding you through this work, I rely on a foundation of specialized training in neurodiversity-affirming care for ADHD. This strength-based approach empowers us to explore your unique experiences without judgment and seeks to create more harmony, clarity, and flow in your life. This could range anywhere from designing a more ADHD friendly life to processing grief, to making more room for acceptance and joy!
