Jo Burch - Neuroaffirming online and outdoor psychotherapist @ The Wild Soul Haven
Hi, I’m Jo and I’m a psychotherapist offering you a compassionate space to be your authentic self away from the pressures of everyday life.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed and highly sensitive to life and its stresses, I’m here to support you to work out what you need to help you to thrive rather than just survive.
I offer psychotherapy online or outside with nature’s soothing presence to help you to find a path through your difficulties towards a life with more ease and fulfillment.
Working online or outside can take away some of the intensity and pressure of being one-to-one in a confined space. Outside with nature as co-therapist, it can be less challenging to reconnect with ourselves and what’s troubling us while in the company of the swaying trees, the scampering animals and the fluttering birds.
I’m a late-identified autistic woman and, through my own lived experience, I have a particular interest in working holistically with the mind and body to help people cope with and, hopefully, resolve emotional and physical difficulties such as chronic fatigue, chronic pain, post-traumatic stress, complex trauma, anxiety and depression.
I work with adults who are figuring themselves out after lifelong masking that may have led to chronic illness and burnout. You might be wondering how you can be free to be your neurodivergent self within the constraints of societal expectations and perceived norms.
I will support you – in a way that affirms your identity – to become more at ease with difficult feelings and build a greater resilience in your nervous system for handling stress.
We will do this at your pace and will discover together what you need that supports you to feel safer and more able to be the real you – rather than the one that’s spent years trying to fit in and may have always felt on the outside or like a square peg in a round hole. I will always encourage you to ask me questions or challenge me if something does not feel right for you.
I’m a psychotherapist who will help you explore how you function in the world through the lens of your development as a child and in your relationships with significant people in your life such as parents, siblings, friends and teachers.
With empathy, compassion and non-judgement, we will look at your patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving, be curious about how they have served you and consider whether they are now getting in your way of having a fulfilling life. You might then think about what changes you could make and how you can support yourself to be who you want to be.
I welcome all aspects of you – physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually – who you are as an individual with your experiences in life alongside your intergenerational and cultural history.
If you’re ready to take the next step to becoming you, get in touch and we can have a free no obligation 30-minute call to discuss a way forward and for you to get a feel of whether I might be the right therapist for you.
