V Tisi, m.a., ccc-slp: speech-language pathologist
Hellooooo! My name is V, and I am an autistic speech-language pathologist guided by my profession and my lived experiences. I specialize in all things neurodiversity and dismantling the paradigms of pathologizing brains and people. My focus is in building positive identity, helping other neurodivergent people (adults and children) learn more about themselves, and figure out accommodations necessary to build an as-successful-as-possible life around our cognitive, communication, social, and sensory differences. I also coach and support parents of neurodivergent children understand the “why” behind explosive behaviors, and am highly trained in supporting PDA (“pathological demand avoidance” or pervasive demand for autonomy), alexithymia, and interoception in order to support nurturing attachment relationships.
I have also taught thousands of clinical professionals in professional development across the allied professions (SLPs, OTs, psychs, LCSWs, educators) over the last few years in my advocacy towards neurodiversity affirming practices, and am available for consultation with clients’ other providers including IFSP/IEP/504 support.
