Paige Helms - Novel Changes Therapy
Life isn’t simple and everyone has a story. I love working with the out of the box thinkers, empaths, and the weird and wonderful. I specialize in both trauma and neurodivergence. I approach neurodivergence as a way of being, not disorders in need of “fixing”. I welcome you as you are. I also work with high acuity individuals who have a history of higher levels of care. I have extensive experience in working with teens and adults experiencing complex trauma and mental health symptoms, eating disorders, psychosis, and self-injury. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I am a licensed supervisor and love working with therapists too!
I adopt an individualized approach with strong narrative therapy themes and fun metaphors. I use evidence-based practices such as EMDR (Eye movement desensitization reprocessing), IFS (Internal Family Systems), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).
I have always believed in the power of storytelling. It is an ancient human practice that helps us learn, adapt, and connect deeply with the experience of being alive. I build my practice off of the idea that our lives are like novels; detailed, complex, rich, and able to be edited and revised with help. I am here to help you with your story.
