Miguel Estrada - psychotherapist

I’m Miguel Estrada, a psychotherapist with over 24 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults across both the UK and Portugal. My clinical focus has always centered around neurodevelopmental and emotional wellbeing, including autism, trauma, and ADHD. These areas are not only my professional specialisms, but also deeply personal to me: I have ADHD myself.
Living with ADHD has given me a unique, first-hand understanding of neurodiversity. It shapes the way I relate to others, the way I listen, and the way I work. It’s given me an instinctive sense for how to connect with people whose minds work differently, and it informs the compassion and creativity I bring to therapy.
I’ve held leadership roles within the NHS, including serving as Clinical Lead for CAMHS at NELFT, where I helped pioneer the TaMHS (Targeted Mental Health in Schools) initiative. I’ve also developed specialist psychotherapy services for children with autism and co-occurring conditions, and continue to work in private practice.
Currently, I’m pursuing an MSc in Applied Neuroscience at King’s College London, because I believe the more we understand the brain, the better we can help heal it. I’m passionate about integrated, evidence-informed care, and I work from a place of lived experience, deep empathy, and strong clinical foundations.
