Louise Farrell Counselling
I am an Autistic Integrative Counsellor with a focus on neuro-affirming and trauma-informed counselling. Are you Autistic or otherwise neurodivergent, or questioning? Have you experienced adversity, when young or as an adult? I can support you toward greater self-understanding, self-acceptance, and wellbeing. Exploring your current situation, and your past, can help you make sense of what is troubling you now. This includes recognising your strengths, as well as your challenges. Are your usual coping strategies still working well for you? If not, I can help you find different, more effective, ways to respond that suit you and your current life better.
I am neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I stand for trans rights. I value and respect human diversity. There are countless ways to think, feel, and sense the world that are all valid. I draw on a variety of approaches, adapting how we work to best suit you. Together, we will clarify your needs so you can better advocate for yourself and your rights.
I work with Autistic and neurodivergent people to help you better understand your life experience. I draw on ideas from Autistic researchers, academics, and advocates. For example: monotropism, masking, the Double Empathy Problem, and Autistic burnout. We can also explore your unique sensory and communication profile. This will help you to make sense of past difficulties and clarify your current needs.
If you think I could be the right counsellor for you, I would love to hear from you. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. At our first session, we start to get to know each other and you can tell me what has brought you to counselling. It is also a chance to get an idea of what to expect from counselling with me, with no obligation to continue.
