Jacs Scheinman - Registered Dietitian

Hi, I’m Jacs Scheinman (he/him), a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with over five years of experience providing virtual, values-driven one-on-one nutrition counseling for people from all walks of life. I understand how difficult it can be to navigate a complex relationship with food—especially when it’s intertwined with epilepsy, AuDHD, or the feeling that your identity isn’t fully seen or acknowledged. I offer nutrition expertise— but beyond that, I bring lived experience, empathy, and a genuine desire to walk alongside you with compassion and curiosity.
I meet you where you are, supporting your goals at a pace that feels right for you. My mission is to help you reconnect with food in a way that supports the parts of life that bring meaning, joy, and purpose.. I specialize in supporting people with eating disorders, feeding differences, and intersecting identities such as neurodivergence and chronic illness.
As a queer, neurodivergent (Autistic, ADHD), and epileptic clinician, I understand the importance of care that is flexible, compassionate, and grounded in lived experience. My approach is trauma-informed, gender-inclusive, and neurodiversity-affirming, with a deep respect for autonomy and body diversity.
My Mission
To help adolescents and adults find ease and confidence with food by focusing on what matters most to them, identifying barriers, and collaboratively building systems that support their needs. Eating is dynamic—it doesn’t fit into one box, and neither should your care plan.
Clinical Interests & Focus Areas
Gender-affirming nutrition strategies for trans and nonbinary individuals (including those on HRT)
Body image support and navigating dysphoria
Eating disorders and feeding differences (including ARFID)
Sensory- and executive function-friendly eating
Neurodivergent-affirming nutrition care
Chronic health conditions (GI disorders, EDS, POTS)
Inclusive nutrition for LGBTQ+ athletes
My Approach
I incorporate aspects of multiple frameworks, drawing on what best supports each client in their real-life context. While I’m inspired by the philosophies below, I don’t subscribe rigidly to one method because eating—and healing—are dynamic:
Responsive Feeding Therapy (RFT)
Trauma-Informed Care
Neurodiversity-Affirming Model
Non-Diet and Health at Every Size® (HAES) principles
Therapeutic strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS)
This flexible, individualized approach honors your lived experience and centers collaboration over prescription.
