I offer neuro-affirming mentoring and coaching for autistic people to explore their identity, achieve goals, and manage transitions.

I’m Katya Johnes, a certified coach and adult-diagnosed autistic person with experience not only of mentoring and coaching autistic people, but also of researching autism-related subjects, and supporting autistic and non-autistic people in a variety of other environments. I want to see my service users grow into the best versions of themselves – and for neurodivergent people, I believe that means embracing our neurotypes. Some of the topics that come up in my sessions include:

Unmasking, and exploring authentic neurodivergent identity;
Navigating work/studies as a neurodivergent person;
Managing/recovering from/preventing burnout;
Exploring sensory/social needs and accommodations you can request or put in place;
Coping with long-term conditions/disabilities.

I feel uniquely privileged to get to see the people with whom I work blossom as they explore themselves. Every person’s journey is different, and I do not impose a set formula for supporting them in this. Instead, through a range of tools and exploratory conversations, we can make progress towards your goals and self-discovery.

Mentoring/coaching is a resource you can use to find the insights, strategies, and actions you need to understand yourself better and achieve your goals. Through one-to-one sessions, you will be able to explore your options, obstacles, identity, goals, and choices in the course of conversations that bring you to greater insight. We can work on tools together that could help you, for example, understand yourself and your priorities better; or we can have less structured conversations that offer an open and safe space for you to investigate what’s going on for you and where you want to go from here.

Sessions are available via video call, and we will discuss any accommodations you need to make them accessible to you (e.g. using typing rather than speech, cameras on/off, breaks, shortened or lengthened sessions, etc.).
