The Clearing at Common Ground | Neurodivergent Therapeutic Support
Understanding yourself is one thing. Living differently is another.
Maybe you’ve done the reading, the courses, the therapy. You know about your nervous system, your patterns, your diagnosis. You can see exactly what you’re doing — and you’re still stuck.
Or maybe you haven’t done formal therapy and you don’t want to. You’re self-aware enough to know what’s getting in the way. What you need isn’t to go deeper. It’s to actually move.
The Clearing is for people at exactly this point.
Hi, I’m Kym.
I’m a Therapeutic Support Practitioner with over 30 years of frontline mental health experience — across NHS services, social care, family courts, community mental health, and specialist BPD support services. I’ve worked with families in crisis, complex trauma, adoption, domestic abuse, and the kinds of situations where everything is genuinely complicated and the people involved have often been let down by every system that was supposed to help them.
I have my own lived experience of late-diagnosed ADHD — of raising neurodivergent children, of managing decades of life without the language to explain why some things were harder than they should have been. I understand the grief of a late diagnosis, the shame, and the quiet pride of having managed all of it without knowing why.
I work within Common Ground, a specialist neurodivergent-affirming psychotherapy practice led by Tayler Remi, an integrative psychotherapist. The Clearing sits within that clinical framework — which means appropriate oversight, clear boundaries, and someone to call if things get more complex.
Who I work with
– Neurodivergent adults navigating ADHD burnout, autistic burnout, and AuDHD burnout — including the paralysis, shutdown, and exhaustion that standard advice never quite fits
– People living with BPD or EUPD — and partners, parents, and family members loving someone who does
– Adults recovering from narcissistic abuse, coercive control, and toxic relationships — including the particular disorientation of trauma bonding and the slow realisation of what actually happened
– People navigating divorce, separation, co-parenting, and the identity shift of a life that now looks completely different
– Parents and caregivers of neurodivergent, complex, or chronically ill children, teens, and adult children — including those fighting systems, navigating inpatient admissions, or simply running on empty
– Adults experiencing postnatal difficulties, menopause, perimenopause, and the identity shifts that can come with them — including dads and non-birthing parents whose struggle is often invisible
– People running on adrenaline and survival mode who know something needs to change but can’t stop long enough to figure out what
– Family members and carers of people with complex mental health needs — including those exhausted by loving someone whose pain keeps overwhelming the relationship
How I work
The Clearing is not therapy or counselling — but it is depth-informed, trauma-aware, and grounded in over three decades of real clinical experience. It sits in the space between insight and change — practical, directional, and focused on real life rather than just understanding.
Think of it as having someone roll up their sleeves alongside you. Not to excavate — to build. Not to sit with the question indefinitely — to help you figure out what to actually do with the answer.
Sessions are 60 minutes, online via Zoom, on Monday and Thursday evenings. Weekly or fortnightly — whatever works for you.
No formal diagnosis is required. The Clearing is not the right fit for everyone — if you get in touch, we’ll have a brief conversation to make sure it’s a good match before anything is booked. If it’s not the right fit, we’ll tell you honestly and point you somewhere that is.
A little more about The Clearing
The Clearing grew out of conversations between Kym and Tayler — a recognition that the people turning up at the practice door weren’t all looking for the same thing, and that the gap between insight and actual change deserved its own dedicated space.
It sits within Common Ground, which means it has the support of a practice led by a qualified psychotherapist. Kym receives regular clinical supervision from Tayler, and the practice follows BACP ethical guidelines throughout.
Sessions are £60. A free 15-20 minute consultation call is available to help you work out whether it’s the right fit.
