Practitioner identifies as: AuDHD, Neurodivergent
Pronouns: She/Her

I’m Sonja, a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.

I identify as AuDHD and I work from a neuro-affirming perspective with autistic, ADHD, and other neurodivergent adults. I offer sessions online and in person.

As a neurodivergent-affirming therapist, I hold a positive view of neurodivergence as a difference, rather than a deficit. I bring specialised training in working therapeutically with autistic adults and in adult ADHD, alongside my own lived experience.

My aim is to help you find your unique way of being in the world and to foster a positive sense of your neurodivergent identity. We may explore issues such as masking, burnout, self-advocacy, and connecting with a neurodivergent community. I also work with people exploring whether autism or ADHD may be part of their identity.

I work relationally, using a Transactional Analysis approach. Our work together will be conversational and collaborative — I pay close attention to how you prefer to communicate and will adapt to your needs.

Alongside my neuro-affirming specialism, I work with a wide range of concerns including trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loss and grief, and adjusting to major life changes. I also offer couples counselling.

I have 15 years of experience and hold an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, a Certificate in Working Therapeutically with Autistic Adults, and a Certificate in Adult ADHD+. Sessions available online or in person in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.
