Spotted Rabbit therapists aren’t here to “fix” you. We live for empowering neurodivergents, LGBTQ+ folx, and adults who’ve experienced emotional neglect to be their most authentic selves and live a life aligned with their own personal values.

Spotted Rabbit Creative Arts Therapy is Different
We don’t work in a stale clinical space, or one that’s filled with positivity cliches. Our therapists are real people, who will treat you as an equal on your journey toward emotional wellness. Therapy sessions are held at a table, so that you may engage in art making during your time with us. Our space is colorful and homey feeling, and is a place where you’re free to make a mess or kick your shoes off. Often we’ll provide you with an art making prompt while we chat, but that’s ultimately up to you. Through out the session we’ll focus on creating a space for you that’s grounded in trust, support, and validation, all the while gently challenging beliefs and patterns of interactions that keep you stuck.

Trauma-Informed | Pro-Neurodiversity | LGBTQIA+ affirming
We believe the best therapists are those that specialize in certain issues and populations and that’s why we focus on what we do. We find the majority of mental health struggles can be traced back to experiences of childhood emotional neglect, undiagnosed or under recognized neurodivergence, and not living as your authentic queer self.

Many of our therapists are LGBTQIA+ and offer support for clients who are exploring their identity or are ready to transition. They are well versed in non-traditional relationships, such as polyamory. As a practice we are pro-neurodivergence and have several therapists on staff with both autism and ADHD. We focus on helping neurodivergent individuals be their most authentic selves by building a life that both meets their needs and celebrates their strengths. We are also experienced in working with coexisting conditions such as dissociative identity disorder (DID) and disordered eating. We use trauma informed and culturally sensitive practices and believe in an intuitive eating/HAES approach.

We provide a streamlined process for getting set up and offer in-person or online sessions for folks in New York State. You can get started by emailing, texting, or calling our intake coordinator. If you’re quick to fill out the paperwork we can typically get you set up within a week!
