Nhu Lam, AuDHD Adult and Neuroaffirming, Anti-Racist Psychotherapist
I am a licensed psychotherapist, former software engineer, and AuDHDer who specializes in supporting neurodivergent people of color.
Together, we’ll work with your neurodivergent brain instead of against it (as we are often forced or socialized to do, unfortunately). This means exploring and identifying patterns in your unique ways of thinking, communicating, and experiencing the world, or building practical tools and executive functioning strategies that support your goals. We may also process the emotional grief, shame, and trauma of surviving in an ableist world, constantly masking, and a later-in-life diagnosis. Many of my clients come to therapy after years of feeling like they had to work harder to meet expectations than their neurotypical peers, hide their needs (this is particularly true for my clients who are neurodivergent women of color), or adapt to hostile, ableist environments that were not designed with them in mind.
Sessions are collaborative, affirming, and tailored to your needs. My goal is to help you better understand yourself and build self-compassion, practical tools, and ultimately a life that honors your neurodivergence (and other identities along race, gender, or sexuality) and supports your well-being.
