Mark – Autistic Person-Centred Counsellor
Many people seek counselling after years of feeling different, misunderstood, or quietly exhausted from trying to adapt to environments that don’t fully fit how they naturally think, feel, or experience the world. You may be exploring your neurodivergence for the first time, questioning long-held assumptions about yourself, or simply looking for a space where you don’t need to mask or constantly explain how your mind works.
I am an autistic counsellor offering person-centred therapy for adults, including those who identify as autistic, ADHD, highly sensitive, or who identify as neurodivergent in other ways. My approach is affirming and non-pathologising, grounded in the belief that your experiences make sense within the context of your life and nervous system rather than needing to be corrected or normalised.
Many clients I work with describe appearing capable on the surface while internally managing anxiety, burnout, sensory overwhelm, relationship challenges, or a deep sense of being out of step with expectations. Together we create a calm, thoughtful space where you can slow down, explore patterns at your own pace, and develop greater clarity and self-understanding without pressure to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or move faster than feels comfortable.
As both a counsellor and an autistic person, I bring professional training alongside lived experience. This often means less need to translate or justify sensory needs, communication styles, or the complexities of identity and belonging. Therapy is collaborative and non-directive, shaped around what feels safe, meaningful, and genuinely supportive for you.
Sessions last 60 minutes and are £55. I offer a small number of reduced-rate spaces, which become available from time to time. If cost is a concern, you’re welcome to contact me to ask about current availability. I’m available for online and telephone sessions, and also work in person if you can get to WV5. Session start times are 08:00, 09:30, 11:00 and 12:30, Wednesday to Saturday, subject to availability.
