Marissa Manzanares, AuDHD adult, Neuro-affirming and Decolonizing Creative Arts Therapist
I’m Marissa Manzanares, LCAT, a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist based in Brooklyn, New York — and a proudly neurodiverse human. I specialize in working with young children, families, women, and neurodiverse populations, with a strong focus on how the sensory system and ADHD-related
executive function shape emotional regulation, behavior, learning, and how we move through the
world.
My clinical background includes child/adolescent and obstetric psychiatry, and I bring both
professional training and lived experience as a neurodivergent (AuDHD) clinician into this work. I use sensory profiles, sensory integration, and creative arts therapy to help clients and clinicians see how the sensory and attentional systems drive behavior, learning, and mental health — and I’m passionate about helping therapists build sensory- and neurodiversity nformed practices that are clinically grounded, creative, and deeply human.
