Kesley Cage - Online & In-Person Sessions
Hi there, I’m Kes. I am a therapist and supervisor practising predominantly online, and based in Brighton, UK.
Many clients choose to attend therapy from the comfort of their own home. Bring a tea and blanket if it helps you feel comfortable. Pets are welcome if it helps you feel emotionally safe.
My approach is based on practice-based research, training and lived experience. I practise with a person-centred orientation toward empowering my clients, and providing neuroaffirming empathic understanding and psycho-education.
I received an adult late-diagnosis of autism and ADHD and am familiar with the highs and lows of coming to terms with this process. I am also a queer/nonbinary person, sex-positive, creative and spiritual by nature, and someone with a very colourful life experience, interests, passions and influences.
Not all of my practice is informed by lived experience, for instance I also work with people of culture – including but not limited to global majority, mixed heritage, migrant, and third-culture individuals. I take a deep interest in getting to know you as my client, and understanding your context and your experiences. Acceptance, empathy, genuineness and reflexive practice are at the heart of my approach. I remain consistently curious and open to learning and researching ways to support you as my client.

I integrate these within a Person-Centred, anti-oppressive/decolonial, and phenomenological practice-based research framework.
– I qualified as Supervisor in 2026, supervising the practices of those in the counselling and helping professions
Wondering what happens in therapy? Some of the questions that my clients bring to therapy include:
– How have I been feeling lately? E.g. Stuck, numb, heavy, light, sad, angry, hopeful, gloomy
– What needs are not being met in my life right now? E.g. social connection, fun, eating, pleasure, sense of meaning, caring for myself, boundaries
– What can I do to meet my needs? E.g. Speak to someone, make a plan, stop doing something, start doing something
Therapy is a space where you are supported to slow down your thoughts, reflect, process, and make sense of things and trust yourself a little more.
