Katherine Johnson LMSW-C
Hello! I’m Katherine “Katie” Johnson, an LMSW-C providing telehealth psychotherapy across Michigan. I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals, including those who are Autistic, ADHD, and Intellectual Disabilities, as well as people with physical disabilities. I also specialize in working with children as a former school social worker. I have experience with navigating school, home, everyday experiences and anxiety and depression. My work is rooted in neurodiversity-affirming care, which means I support clients in understanding and embracing their unique ways of thinking and experiencing the world.
My therapy style is collaborative, supportive, and creative. I often incorporate clients’ special interests, play-based principles, bibliotherapy, puppets, and traditional talk therapy. I also draw from approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and DBT principles. I make sure every client has a coping skill “tool box” to help with everyday stressors.
