Erin Roach, Queer Anti-Oppressive Psychotherapist
My name is Erin, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist based out of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
I specialize in working with clients who are part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, as well as with autistic clients. I also have experience working with those in the kink and polyamorous communities.
I work most often with issues of self-esteem and attachment trauma, though I can also help with anxiety, depression, stress, interpersonal conflict, self-exploration, and identity.
I believe in using a collaborative approach, getting to know you first and figure out what approach will work the best for your specific brain and your specific needs, and I pull from a variety of theoretical orientations. I also believe in attending both to the present day concerns as well as the deeper patterns that might be getting in the way (such as attachment disruption, internalized oppression, self-esteem issues, etc.). I prefer to take your lead in terms of figuring out what to focus on; I want to know what’s important to you and what you’re hoping for from our work together.
