Dr Jess Rayner - Neuroaffirming Clinical Psychologist
Hello and Welcome!
I’m a registered Clinical Psychologist offering warm, compassionate and down-to-earth therapy, with a particular passion for working with fellow neurodivergent folk.
I’m experienced at working with people navigating anxiety, trauma, stress and burnout, grief, low self-esteem and the challenges that can come with navigating life as a neurodivergent person. I have both professional and lived experience of neurodivergence as a late-diagnosed ADHDer (and possibly autistic too). Alongside this, I’ve got experience supporting people living with long-term health conditions, like chronic pain and fatigue.
People often arrive at therapy feeling exhausted from masking, burned out, struggling to work out who they are, perhaps feeling misunderstood or simply like they don’t quite fit. I aim to create a relaxed, authentic space where you can come as you are, without having to perform or have everything figured out. We’ll work together to make sense of what’s going on and find approaches that feel genuinely useful for you.
I’m trained in a range of therapies with I integrate and tailor to you and your unique needs. This includes EMDR, a gold standard trauma therapy as well as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and other mindfulness-based approaches.
Alongside talking, the therapies I use offer practical strategies and skills to help in the here and now and ways of connecting with your mind and body, informed by my work as a qualified yoga teacher.
We can adapt how we work together to your needs, including sensory, communication and social needs. I’m particularly keen to create a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and hopefully take a break from masking.
Alongside personal challenges, I’ve noticed people are increasingly feeling the impact of the events of the wider world around them, if this is the case for you, I offer space to explore and process this.
I offer a free, no-pressure initial consultation, so if you’re wondering whether therapy might be helpful, it would be great to chat and see if I might be a good fit.
