Dr. Chris Worfolk - Psychologist
Practitioner identifies as: Autistic, Neurodivergent
Pronouns: he/him

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist specialising in anxiety, OCD, burnout and self-esteem issues. I offer therapy and assessment both in-person and online.

My starting point is that difference is good for the world and should be celebrated and welcomed. My autistic traits are a big part of what makes me special, and your differences are part of what make you brilliant, too. However, it is also true that society creates a lot of challenges for neurodivergent individuals and it is important we make space for acknowledging and navigating these, too.

Therapeutically, I predominantly work using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). You will be in control of the process, choosing how much structure, direction, and pace you would like. Too often, neurodivergent individuals’ autonomy is not respected, so it is important to me that we work collaboratively with your voice being at the centre of our work.

Here is my official blurb in third-person:

Chris is a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society and holds degrees from the University of Leeds, Leeds Beckett University and Trinity College Dublin. Chris’s previous experience includes nine years as Clinical Director of Anxiety Leeds, as well as working in student counselling, primary care, and the specialist trauma unit at Tallaght Hospital.
