Dr. Anthony Redhead, Neurodivergent Clinical Psychologist
I offer neuro-affirming adult autism identification assessments and post-identification support for autistic adults and people exploring whether autism may help explain longstanding experiences and patterns.
Assessments are collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in an understanding of how masking, adaptation, trauma, sensory differences, burnout, and life experiences can shape presentation across the lifespan. I aim to create a process that feels respectful, reflective, and accessible rather than deficit-focused.
Alongside autism identification assessments, I offer post-identification support to help people process the experience of identification and develop a deeper understanding of their strengths, needs, nervous system, identity, relationships, and wellbeing.
This includes:
• post-identification strengths and needs formulation work
• structured post-identification support sessions
• support around masking, burnout, sensory needs, and self-understanding
• adapted psychological therapy where appropriate
I have extensive experience supporting autistic adults within NHS mental health services, including consultation, supervision and training to clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to support more accessible, neuro-affirming psychological practice and adapted therapeutic approaches.
Appointments are available online and in person in Durham.
