I’m Christina P. Kantzavelos, MSW, LCSW, a neuroaffirming psychotherapist, coach, and practitioner educator with more than 15 years of clinical experience. My work sits at the intersection of neurodivergence, trauma, chronic illness, medical trauma, nervous system regulation, and identity.
I work with neurodivergent adults navigating burnout, overwhelm, masking, identity shifts, chronic illness, medical trauma, grief, relationship changes, and the experience of having to understand themselves in systems that were not designed with them in mind. I especially enjoy working with people who have spent years adapting to expectations that did not fit the way their minds or bodies work.
My approach is trauma-informed, somatic, person-centered, and neuroaffirming. Depending on the person and their goals, I draw from EMDR, Internal Family Systems, ACT, mindfulness, and body-based approaches. I am interested in the whole person rather than reducing someone to a diagnosis, and I do not approach neurodivergence as something to correct, suppress, or overcome.
Chronic illness and medical experiences are an important part of my clinical work. I understand how repeated medical encounters, diagnostic uncertainty, dismissal, loss of function, and changes in identity can affect the nervous system, relationships, and sense of self. Our work can include processing medical trauma, reconnecting with the body, navigating identity changes, and developing ways of living that are more sustainable and aligned.
I offer virtual psychotherapy to clients within my areas of professional licensure and coaching internationally. I also provide education, consultation, and training for practitioners seeking greater competency in working with neurodivergent and chronically ill clients.
Sessions are collaborative and individualized. There is no expectation that you perform wellness, mask, make eye contact, or fit yourself into a particular therapeutic model. We work together to understand what is happening, identify what you need, and create a therapeutic process that respects your neurotype, lived experience, body, and autonomy.
