Aukse Ker neurodiversity-affirming counselling & psychotherapy
Hello, and a very warm welcome. My name is Aukse (she/her), which is of Lithuanian origin and is pronounced as ‘owk-seh’. I am honoured to know that you might be interested in working together. I identify as AuDHD, and I am learning about my unique differences every day. That, and a keen interest in all things psychology, cultures, and soft things, are my special interests. I have lived experience of being on a journey of my own and understand what it can feel like to seek support.
I am a qualified, BACP-registered and neurodiversity-affirming integrative psychotherapist working with adults and young people (18+). In my practice, I aim to offer a safe, inclusive, and person-centred space where you can speak openly and feel supported as we explore what matters to you the most. In the therapy space, this might look like us working as a team to understand what brings you to therapy and, through our work together, beginning to explore solutions that may feel right for you. Being trained in an integrative approach, I draw from different modalities (person-centred, psychodynamic, and CBT) to best suit your individual circumstances. I also bring my previous experience of a supported employment advisor/assistant team manager working with autistic people and those with mental health conditions into my work, using goal-setting, motivational interviewing, emotional toolkit building, and creativity, among others, to support clients to achieve their goals. My practice is guided by a belief that we are the best experts of our circumstances. That means that in therapy I will take your lead to understand what brings you to therapy and, through our work together, begin to explore solutions that may feel right for you.
