Hi, I’m Ammone (they/them). I’m a counsellor & psychotherapist with 5+ years experience working in helping professions, and I provide online individual therapy for adults (18+) in the UK.

WHO I WORK WITH
I have experience of working with a wide range of presenting concerns, including but not limited to:
– Stress, anxiety & overwhelm
– Low mood, low motivation, depression
– Grief and loss (including but not limited to bereavement)
– Feelings of shame, guilt & self-blame
– Low self-esteem, low self-confidence, perfectionism
– Life changing injury/illness/disability

And I work with clients who are:
– Navigating questions around identity/gender/sexuality
– Facing life/work/health challenges or transitions
– Searching for meaning/purpose/direction in a world that feels increasingly uncertain

BACKGROUND/QUALIFICATIONS
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer for an LGBTQ specialist charity, providing 1:1 therapy for adults accessing the talking therapies service. In previous roles, I used my skills to provide 1:1 F2F counselling for adult and adolescent students accessing the dedicated on campus counselling services, and provided welfare support for people presenting in emotional distress / crisis at gigs, events, & festivals.

*FdSc Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Skills*
My training covered person-centred & integrative approaches, alongside:
– Psychodynamic therapy
– Gestalt therapy
– Cognitive behavioural therapy
– Transactional analysis

I also have a special interest and further (CPD) training in:
– Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
– Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
– Existential therapy

This means there are a range of therapeutic modalities that I can draw from, depending on what might be most appropriate for the work that we do together in sessions.

*CertHE in Psychology*
I completed the first year of a BPS-accredited BSc (Hons) Psychology degree, and was awarded a CertHE in Psychology, before changing course to a degree in counselling & psychotherapy.

MY APPROACH
Working from a person-centred & integrative foundation, I consider my approach first and foremost in the context of the person sitting across from me. This means I take into consideration your personal circumstances, individual needs, and goals for therapy, and I integrate skills/tools/techniques from a wide range of therapeutic approaches, with the aim of providing therapy that is sensitively attuned to each client that I have the privilege of working with.

If this resonates & you’re wondering if I might be the right therapist for you, you can find more information about me/my approach on my website. You’re also more than welcome to reach out via email with any questions that you might have, or to book in for a free consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
