Alexandra Smith, LMFT, PMH-C - Perinatal Mental Health and Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapist
Hi, I’m Alex! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Perinatal Mental Health Certified Clinician (PMH-C) and specialize in supporting Autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, and otherwise neurodivergent folks with feeling more connected to themselves and healing through challenging times/transitions. I offer individual and couples therapy services. Many clients come to me to work on anxiety, depression, burnout recovery and unmasking, relationships challenges, navigating life as a neurodivergent person in general, or adjusting to the many changes that come with pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. I understand how important it is and how comforting it can feel to finally find a space where you can finally feel understood and be yourself without judgment.
My approach to therapy is neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed, attachment-based, person-centered, and rooted in self-compassion. Specifically, I’ve found that incorporating Internal Family Systems (IFS) into sessions as extremely helpful in helping clients better understand themselves and create lasting change. Happy to talk more about this if interested! With that being said, ultimately, sessions are collaborative and tailored to you. There’s no pressure to have the “right” words or know where to start. Some days we might process a difficult experience, explore relationship patterns, or untangle anxious thoughts. Other days we may celebrate wins, build practical coping strategies, or simply make space for whatever you’re carrying.
My hope is that you’ll leave therapy feeling more connected to yourself, more confident in navigating life’s challenges, and more able to build a life that feels authentic to you. I’d love to hear from you! If you’d like to further explore if we’d be a good fit, you may reach out to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation.
